Taste of Melbourne will return this winter and we couldn’t be more excited.
Not only am I flying down with an entourage of girlfriends, we are celebrating one very special occasion: the last weeks of my singledom!

Running from 26-29 August, Taste of Melbourne will transform the Royal Exhibition Buildings into a culinary haven featuring signature dishes from Melbourne’s top restaurants.
Participating restaurants include:
* Stokehouse+ Bar
* Longrain + Bar
* Sarti
* Maze
* Fifteen
* The Palace by Luke Mangan
* Melbourne Wine Room
* Mr. Wolf
* Esposito
* Libertine
* Mezzo

This year’s festival will also feature pop up restaurants which change with each day of the show – these include Embrasse, Koots Salle a Manger and Entre Tapas y Vinos.
As with the Sydney show earlier this year, leading local producers will exhibit their delicious wares for tasting and buying. Anthea Loucas, editor of Gourmet Traveller magazine will also host cooking demonstrations by Melbourne’s leading chefs.

Win tickets to Taste of Melbourne!
Thanks to the organisers, Brand Events, we are giving away 5 double passes to Taste of Melbourne, which can be used at any session during the show. Unfortunately, flights are not included for interstate readers but there are great deals on offer from Tiger and Virgin.
To be in the running, simply leave a comment below and tell us which Melbourne restaurant you’d most like to see at the show – whether they are part of this year’s show or not!
For me, it will have to be maze, although I’m a little disappointed that Nobu and Movida aren’t participating this year.
Competition closes at 6pm Sunday 22 August. For more information, please visit www.tastefestivals.com.au.

I would love to see the spanish restaurant Anada featured, it’s my new favourite in Melbourne!
I would really love to see Movida but seriously, I live in the country now and I really miss the variety of quality places to eat that Melbourne Has to offer, so anything is better than nothing!
For me it would be Mamasita on Collins Street. They’re not featured but they should be because they showcase real, fresh amazing Mexican food.
Giuseppe Arnaldo & Sons – it’s a great restaurant with authentic Italian food and brilliant antipasto plates!
Ooh I’ll actually be in Melbourne that weekend too!
I’d love to sample Mo Vida – heard so much about their amazing food!
rockpool
takumi on bourke street (up parliament end)
great beef, salad, ox tongue and squid
fresh and cooked over a coal fire bbq
Maze! anything from gordon ramsay is certainly something right!
I think you are also pyschic to know that I also wish to see nobu and movida in the list! Ive tried movida and they have the best tapas ever. Fresh quality produce from Australia’s best!
I would love to see Helenic Republic because they have such yummy food!
Maze- does it live up to it’s hype??
OMG MAZE! I went to Melbourne a few weeks back and I had to toss up between Cutler&Co and Maze.. I had to toss a coin and Cutler&Co it was :O
So excited to know that Maze will be on showcase ~ I hope one of the dishes will be the Australian classic lamington with rosella jam!
Rockpool for their tasty wagyu
then a macaron from Cafe Vue
So much food my top button’s undone
A day of gluttony at Taste of Melbourne!
Vue de Monde is top of my wishlist!
Gordon Ramsay’s Maze – it is totally a-maze-ing! Excellent service, nice ambience, brilliant balance of flavours and the execution of dishes is perfect!!
Cocoro Japanese Cafe in Fitzroy is really delish! They have pure classic Japanese cuisine that’s affordable with abundant servings. The Wafu Chicken will blow your mind.
most excited to see and taste MAZE and STOKEHOUSE
after reading all these sydney blogs about the taste festival i really wanna go!
I really wanted to see Ibuki part of the show but unfortunately it’s not. The restaurant is a little like a food fairytale, started operating in a garage in the suburbs doing set menu for large groups to now opened at two locations in Melbourne CBD. It’s a pity the place was so quiet when I went there for my anniversary. Would be great to see Ibuki get their food out there for people to taste at a festival like this.
Not quite Melbourne.
LOAM in Drysdale on the Bellarine.
MoVida… It’s the only way I’ll get to taste their amazing tapas, since I can never get a seat in there!!!
Mr. Wolf, pizza that melts on your tongue should have a different name than the greasy cheese and meat monstrosities passed off around town.
Movida I’d like to see,
And my fave the stuffed and fried flowers of a zucchini !
MOVIDA because the have such great yummy tapas and i’m from Sydney and we need something like that in Sydney!
Loved it last year and looking forward to it again
Vue De Mont. Love it!
I’d love to see MoMo at Taste. Their food is incredible. I would go just for their desserts!
I would love to see Coda, their chilli Crab is such an experience to eat.
I wish The Press Club was back this year!
Hi,
I would love to see Maha at the Festival.
I went recently, and was blown away by the Turkish delight doughnuts. The way Shane Delia has combined the crunchiness of the pine nut sugar coating with the softness of the interior is just magical.
Nevertheless, the restaurants this year still look absolutely amazing. I would just love to go and experience it for the first time.
Some fantastic suggestions here! I’ll have to look into booking some of these great places while I’m in Melbourne.
Can’t go pass Da Noi in South Yarra.
Like many others, I love maze too! This is an extremely difficult question as Melbourne has so many great places to eat – we are spoilt for choice! Ok fine I’ll make a decision! hehe I’d have to say Coda is my current absolute favourite – always amazing food and service outstanding! Close runner-up though would have to be MoVida Aqui (haven’t actually gone to the original Movida on Hosier Lane as yet but Aqui was so yummy!)
It surely has to be MAZE and FIFTEEN. Two of the greatest renowned chefs in the world and these restaurants are their creation. Melbourne has world class cuisine to offer and You just cannot miss these restaurants which are more like a lifetime experience.
Taste of London in Melbourne town,
Worthy of Michelin crowns?
Gordon Ramsay’s ‘Maze’ wins by far,
There’s fireworks on the plate, not in the vernacular!
Vue de Monde for sure! As I’ve heard many excellent comments about the food! Glad that Maze is in this year’s Taste of Melbourne. Been wanting to try whats all the commotion with Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants
I am looking to try all of them! We only have one restaurant in our wee town, so am really looking forward to coming to the city and trying them all out if we can score freebies!
Would love taste food from Coda, Cumulus inc, Hellenic Republic, Mamasita, Bar Lourinha, Gingerboy, Ocha, Fenix…..
Could go on !
Did i hear the word tapas? Lots of little plates just for me! MoVida!
Verge on spring street. The food not only tastes amazing, but looks incredibly impressive too! The way it is served makes you eat it slowly, and therefore appreciate all the different flavors. Would love to see them next year, but looking forward to seeing all the others involved. Sarti and long rain are on my dining wish list.
Mc Donald’s !! I’ll be amazed if they show up with an healthy new fast-food for an healthier future !!
Cheers,
Matteo’s on Brunswick St, Fitzroy…fantastic food, great atmosphere and a Melbourne institution
who won the tickets?
We are giving everyone a few extra days to enter. Winners will be announced on Monday morning!
I’m so glad I was able to experience the Taste of Melbourne thanks to one of your tickets.
I found it an excellent opportunity to see which restaurants I would like to go back to – for example, maze and Mezzo were really good (especially a pork cheek from Mezzo). The wine tastings were also excellent. So thank you for the tix!
I’d love to see Grill on the Hill in Kew there – their Steaks are seriously the best in Melbourne!
