I really admire Luke Nguyen and all that he has done to raise awareness with Vietnamese foods; especially with his tv show and book.

Lovely write up, and I would indeed like to try it out one day when I’m feeling peckish for some late tucker.. Mmmm

Slow braised wagyu beef brisket looks great. I think I would be an embarrassment at an event like this, I would be following the waiters all night stealing treats of their plates.

looks like a very successful event with yummy food. the Fat Noodle hostesses don’t look too fat though. i’ve been twice to Red Lantern a while ago but still have yet to experience what all the hype is about. could be the overpriced crown st western market syndrome. but will have to revisit again i think. as they say third time lucky. my third time at Mamak was a good one compared to my first two visits.

Have to agree with Mr Cravats – really tasty “Fat Pho” but I may be spoiled by Cabra and Marrickville which have larger portions!

The second time, I had the classic pork chop rice which was a more reasonably sized serving.

Perhaps the size of the dishes is designed to get you back into the action as soon as possible
