• 2009 Good Food & Wine Show – Sydney
  • By Ms. Taste

When the Good Food & Wine Show comes to town every year, it’s an event that no foodie wants to miss.

Not only can you get up close with exhibitors and sample all sorts of food, beer and wine — but there are cooking demonstrations to enjoy, showbags to buy and the chance to bump into a celebrity chef or two.

This year’s show featured over 300 exhibits and an impressive line-up of celebrity chefs, headlined by none other than Gordon Ramsay.

Here are my top 10 highlights from this year’s show:

    1. Beer maids at the Lowenbrau stand

    2. Cheering on my favourite Masterchef contestants at the LG Celebrity Theatre

    3. Seeing local brewers like Red Oak showcasing their top drops at the show

    4. Gordon Ramsay’s guest appearance at his wife’s cooking segment at the BBC Australian Good Food Theatre

    5. Doing a double take at the Latin Deli stand.

A harp? Not something you see everyday!

Can't really think of a link between harps and latin food, but still, it's not something you see everyday!

    6. Top notch cappuccino from organic coffee duo River Roast

The organic coffee here was fantastic!

    7. Getting carried away at the Cookie Couture by Nadine Ingram stand. Her too-cute-to-eat cookies, macaroons and cakes were simply to die for!

    What a delightful stand!

No, that's not my hand pinching one of Nadine's delicious gingerbread cookies!

    8. Lindeman’s Early Harvest Restaurant recreates fine dining at the Good Food & Wine Show

    Long lines for this

    9. Seeing Gordon Ramsay question his choice of wardrobe at the LG Celebrity Theatre

    Did he dress himself?

    10. And finally…. Catching Gary Mehigan in this awkward pose whilst making Tuscan beef stew at the BBC Australian Good Food Theatre

You don't see him like this on Masterchef!

Wow, you got some great closeup photos! Very nice roundup, indeed. I am still enjoying the products that I bought there (and my cat is enjoying the cat food).

LOL @ the harp in the latin stand, how random! I agree about the cookie couture stand, it was far too cute!

Nice list! I missed out again this year. Last year I had my wisdom teeth taken out, this year I had a knee reconstruction. It’s not meant to be.

Great Food is the art form that pleases and challenges your taste buds and well played live music (harp) is a complimentary artform that enhances the experience. Entertaining our customers while tasting our fine products was very much appreciated by many.
